This type of classification helps to present recipes with another point of view and in an alternative manner. One thing is sure, there are many Greek recipes in this blog but there are also a lot of vegetable recipes, so I thought that a category for vegetarian and vegan (very trendy and for courageous people!) food might make sense. I also decided to include recipes coming from other cultures so I created an additional category for “Food for Around the World” :-) So enjoy :-)
Pommes Dauphines
Pommes dauphines are French potatoes made with potato puree and choux dough! They are briefly fried and get a quick time in the oven. They are really splendid! Crispy on the outside and moist in the inside! So particular and so French!
Pumpkin or Squash Pie with Pecans
Pumpkin pie and squash tart along with pecan pie are American classics and in this version they are so delicate and tasteful that you will be surprised! It’s a matter of having a well-balanced mix of spices (cinnamon and nutmeg)! Just try and you will see!
Maryland Fried Chicken
An American fried chicken not as usual! Why? Because it’s cooked slowly into clarified butter and this makes all the difference! It comes from an old recipe in an old book that it’s not forgotten after all! Try it, you worth it!
Horseradish sauce
A horseradish sauce made with Greek yogurt (!) and this makes all the difference ;-) It’s light and tasteful and can be eaten without remorse ;-) Horseradish, which has a very strong and spicy taste, is present in the sauce but not intrusive :-) That’s another characteristic of this sauce which is still very tasteful ;-)
Fried pork as in Japan
A fried pork as if it was “tonkatsu” in smaller bites ;-) It has a quite powerful sauce made with fresh ginger, soy sauce, mirin and saké! So nice! Just give it a try ;-)
Beef Curry – Madoo Curry
A beef curry without curry! You make your own curry (!) and it’s easy ;-) You use coriander, turmeric, cumin, chili and mustard seeds! The beef is cooked slowly in a pan and at the end you add coconut milk! So good and surprisingly powerful ;-)
