Welcome to this new edition of the solo food newsletter! In this edition you will discover 2 new recipes that create a full menu with the recipes published in the previous edition! As the main course you have sole filets with cognac and Comté cheese (which very unusual as a combination) and my version of a traditional French dessert called Clafoutis which is made traditionally with cherries! Just give both recipes a try, and of course don’t miss to make the recipes of the last addition and have a full menu with Starter, Main Course and Dessert!

There is also a new tip regarding the Kampot black pepper which was my favorite peppercorns, and some other peppers :-) and last but no least… have a look at my latest video which uses photos and is rather delicate and intimate!

My mother used to tell me that cheese does not go well with fish (!) but in this recipe they go very well together, and I will probably make it for her to please her in a different manner :-) It’s a Weight Watchers recipe that I’ve changed, and which matches together a very delicate fish, such as the sole, with Comté cheese or Gruyere, if you find it more easily! Everything is cooked in the oven with a fine sauce made with heavy cream and cognac! It’s really good, but if you think that the quantity of cheese is overwhelming, don’t hesitate to use less :-) But, I like Comté cheese (or a fine gruyere for that matters), so I prefer the version I published ;-) It’s up to you ;-)

The first time I eat Clafoutis was 10 years ago (!) and I was thrilled! Unfortunately, I lost the recipe :-( But this one wins the prize after testing various other recipes :-) It’s a version that is closer to the recipe I had made 10 years ago! It’s a simple recipe and very easy to make with a batter based on milk, eggs, sugar and flour! Simple ingredients! Great results! I keep the cherries with their stones, because they say it’s better, but between us, I think that it’s better without stones :-) at least that’s how I had done it the first time (if I recall right) ;-) Try both ways and find yours!

As you might have already noticed, the Kampot black pepper is all over my site! It’s not that I am obsessed with this pepper, it’s simply the first great pepper I had ever tried, and that’s why I chose to honor it on my site :-) If you want to know the full story and get to meet other peppers ;-) just read the article! It also suggests how to use peppercorns and why use them instead of ground pepper, and presents the taste and smells of these other new peppers I have tasted recently in a different manner :-) It’s yours!

“Les perles de pluie” literally means “Rain pearls” and I wonder if you have ever seen them in reality or in a video! Maybe you have imagined them after hearing the famous song by the Great Belgian song writer and singer Jacques Brel (?) Maybe not! Just have a look at my new video and see my perception of them, because when I saw them in reality, they made me think of him!
